If you are continuing to the Guyanas in a vehicle bigger than bicycle or motorcycle check the status of the ferries before heading north! Especially the Suriname-French Guyana ferry is tricky as they do maintenance stops from time to time and then the border is closed for vehicles. (Officially also closed for bikes but there seem to be ways) There is no alternative border crossing.
