The rules have changed and now the park is open on Mondays and closed on Wednesdays. Everything is still free but for camping you need to reserve beforehand. You can check the pin at Torqueira campsite for that. Motorbikes, campervans or motorhomes are not allowed in the park, not even for the day! A torch (except the one on your phone) is obligatory, if you go hiking. If you want to reach Pico da Banteira and come back the same day, you have to enter the park between 7:00 and 8:00. There are some other, nice and easy, shorter hikes, like the one to Vale Verde.
