I can't believe how few posts there are for this island so I thought I should mention it as a whole. Vehicles can't get there but it's a backpacker's or tent camper's dream. The whole island is covered in jungle but has hundreds of stunning beaches. You can stay in Abraao in one of the many hostels or campsites, or also trek round the island in 5-7 days. Also worth it if you fancy a break from van life, just leave the van on the mainland (we found a hostel / campsite in Paraty and visited the island twice while leaving the van there.) Lopes Mendes beach is one of the top 10 in the world, it's beautiful! The main town also has plenty of supermarkets, pharmacies etc for stocking up on supplies.
