we made do with this spot after driving around town for hours looking for a campground. all the campgrounds we stopped at were closed for the season. this spot is up a dirt road away from town, sorta bumpy but you shouldn't need 4WD for the drive. there's a tourism office nearby with free wifi (they have the password posted outside the building). this spot was quiet at night, only a couple cars drove by in the evening and a couple in the morning. stars came out to play so that was cool. there's a short trail through the adjacent crop of rocks that give a beautiful ocean view. we made a fire and had a bbq.
