State Park Araucaria

When traveling from Iguaçu to the coast we stumbled upon this lovely place. It is a state park established as compensation for a nearby hydro-electric dam. It contains some beautiful Araucaria trees, 3 of which are over 400 years old, and there are 2 nice hiking trails, both about 2km and a visitor center. The people are enthusiastic and super friendly. They asked if we wanted to stay overnight and showed us the facilities (good clean bathrooms with hot shower and wifi). They would love to receive more overlanders so I offered them to post the place on iOverlander. Also great with families as there is abundant space to play around. Entrance and overnight were all for free. The park seems to close on Monday and Tuesday and before 9 or after 17. You can let them know you’re coming in advance via Whatsapp on +55 49 98801-8903. Pablo lives on the property so he can probably let you in after opening hours. Enjoy!
