URI visa extension

We are from New Zealand, this is where we came to get a further 90 days on our visa. We completed a form online https://www.gov.br/pt-br/servicos/prorrogar-estada-no-brasil and then visited this office at the airport. Best to park in the airport carpark. As you face the terminal go to the left, at the very end of the terminal is a guarded gate, it looks like the entry to a cargo terminal. Ask the guard for URI, he'll point to a narrow footpath on the left. Down there you will see the office. Here we explained our situation and handed over our passports. They produced a document that we took to the Lotteria in the airport to pay $110R each (they don't accept credit card so make sure you have cash or there are ATMs there but they have high fees) We took the receipts back to the URI and they stamped our passports with the new visa. We then went to the guard house at the start of the narrow footpath. This is by the large gate, not the same one as you came in by originally (we didn't even notice it when we walked by because it looks like it controls the cargo terminal) Here they entered our passport details into their system and took our photos before directing us to the first door in the large building and up the stairs. The police here matched our new TIP to the visa date in our passports. Whole process took 2 hours. We did this 4 days before our visa expired.
