Wow what a river.

so I have only been in brazil for a week but if there is more of this ahead of me I am not turning around. we were aiming for the formal camp ground on the island but with wild camps like this who needs a toilet! We haven't had anything this nice since the carretera Austral but here the water isn't 0 oC! the road in is a fair bit of dirt but even after rain which we had the night before you take a 2wd sedan through. our 4 runner had no issue. you can camp on the hill for a fantastic view or try to level out in a pullout near the river. love this place!Also you need to cross a river to get to the island. it seemed fine rivers in this area flow over bedrock. moght have easier access west side but didn't check it out.
